Don’t Give Up on Yourself: What 100 Episodes Have Taught Me About Healing, Confidence and Self-Worth

There are moments in life that do more than hurt you. They wake you up.

If you have been feeling tired, discouraged, or quietly wondering whether things will ever truly change, this is your reminder not to give up on yourself. Healing, confidence, and self-worth are not built by waiting until life feels easy. They are built through small, brave choices made while you are still learning, still healing, and still finding your way back to yourself.

In Episode 100 of The Billy Boss Show, we celebrate a powerful milestone and reflect on what 100 episodes have taught us about healing, confidence, self-worth, truth, courage, and choosing not to abandon the woman you are becoming.

This episode is also a reminder that accepting less than your worth is often something you learn through pain, but it is not something you have to keep carrying into your future.

What 100 episodes have taught me about showing up

This episode is more than a celebration. It is a reflection on what becomes possible when you keep showing up, even when doubt is loud.

When this podcast first began, it was not born from perfect confidence. It came from lived experience, heartbreak, healing, fear, and the deep decision to turn pain into purpose. It came from the very human questions so many women know well: Who am I to do this? Who am I to speak about healing when I have felt so broken?

There was fear around being seen. Fear around speaking with a stutter. Fear around being dyslexic. Fear around needing 10, 15, sometimes 20 attempts just to get one sentence out.

But the show did not begin because everything felt ready. It began because hiding no longer felt honest. And the life you dream of cannot meet the version of you that keeps hiding from it.

So many women wait for confidence before they begin. They wait to feel healed enough, ready enough, worthy enough, or certain enough. But confidence is often built through action, not before it. Sometimes the next step is what teaches you who you really are.

Healing is not linear, but it is possible

Healing can feel confusing when you expect progress to look neat. You have a good week, then an old wound comes back. You feel steady, then something small activates a younger part of you that still feels afraid.

That does not mean you are failing. It means healing is asking for more awareness.

Healing is not a straight path from broken to whole. It is a spiral. You may circle back to familiar pain, but you are not returning as the same woman. You are returning with more understanding, more language, more compassion, and more capacity to choose differently.

That is why a setback does not erase your growth. Sometimes it simply reveals where your heart still needs tenderness. Sometimes it shows you the next layer that is ready to heal.

If healing feels slow right now, let this land gently. Slow does not mean stuck. It may mean you are finally becoming conscious enough to meet what you once had to survive.

Your past explains you, but it does not define you

Your past may explain why certain things feel hard. It may explain why trust feels unsafe, why visibility feels exposing, why criticism cuts deeply, or why self-doubt has followed you into rooms where you are fully capable of belonging.

But your past does not define who you become.

Trauma, shame, rejection, heartbreak, loss, and emotional pain may shape your patterns, but they are not the whole truth of who you are. Your past is not your prison. It can become your curriculum when you stop using it as evidence against your future.

That shift matters. Your past can teach you. It can help you understand the places that still need healing. It can reveal why you learnt to protect yourself in certain ways.

But it cannot decide your future unless you keep handing it that authority.

You are not your parents’ mistakes. You are not someone else’s abandonment. You are not the words spoken over you by people who did not understand your heart. You are the woman choosing what happens next.

Self-worth is something you remember

Many women spend years trying to earn the worth they were born with.

You may have believed that once you achieved more, looked different, healed fully, became more successful, found the right relationship, or became easier to love, then you would finally feel enough.

But that is the lie that keeps self-worth just out of reach.

Your worth was never given to you by the world, so the world cannot take it from you. It was not created by your achievements, your appearance, your relationship status, your income, or your ability to keep everyone happy.

Self-worth is not something you have to chase. It is something you return to. It is something you remember every time you stop abandoning yourself.

Every time you choose yourself over people-pleasing, you remember your worth. Every time you speak the truth with a shaking voice, you reclaim your worth. Every time you say no to what does not serve you, you honour your worth.

Truth and confidence are built through brave choices

Real freedom begins when you stop hiding from the truth.

Shame survives in silence. It tells you that if people knew the whole story, they would judge you, reject you, or see you as less worthy. But truth interrupts shame. The truth is the antidote to shame because it brings what has been hidden into the light, where it can finally begin to lose its power.

That does not mean truth always feels easy. Sometimes it feels raw. Sometimes it feels messy. Sometimes it hurts to admit what you have been carrying. But truth is where freedom begins because it allows you to stop performing and start living honestly.

Confidence is built in a similar way, not through perfection, but through small, brave choices repeated over time.

The version of you that you dream of becoming is not created in one dramatic breakthrough. She is built when you show up scared. She is built when you try again after stumbling. She is built when you speak even though your voice shakes. She is built when you keep going, even when no one is watching.

You do not need to see the whole staircase. You only need the courage to take the next step.

Please don’t give up on yourself

If you are in a season where healing feels slow, keep going. You are becoming, even if the progress feels quiet. If you are carrying the weight of your past, begin putting it down one honest choice at a time. Your story matters, but it is not your identity. You are allowed to create a next chapter that looks nothing like what you survived.

If you have been waiting to feel worthy, stop waiting. You are worthy now. Not when you are more successful. Not when you are fully healed. Not when someone finally chooses you. Right now, exactly as you are.

And if there is a dream in your heart that feels too big, too late, or too far away, please do not give up on it.

The woman you dream of becoming is waiting on the other side of your small, brave choices. She is built each time you choose healing over hiding, truth over shame, courage over comfort, and yourself over the old story.

Your healing matters. Your voice matters. Your dreams matter. And the life you dream of is waiting for the version of you willing to show up for it.

Questions to Dig Deeper:

Reflect on these prompts to support your growth:

  1. Where in my life am I still waiting to feel ready, worthy, or healed enough before I let myself fully begin?
  2. What part of my past am I still using as evidence against myself, and who could I become if I stopped letting it define me?
  3. If I truly believed I was already worthy, what would I stop tolerating, and what would I finally choose for myself?
