What Do You Really Mean When You Say, "I AM FINE"

Do you know that “I am fine” is the most told lie in the English language? It is usually used when someone is, in fact, not fine but they say “I am fine” because they don’t want to burden others and it’s easier to explain than what’s wrong, would you agree?

F.I.N.E is said to stand for “Feeling Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional”, and can also be “Feeling I’m Nothing to Everyone” or “Feeling Inadequate, Needing Encouragement”. Whatever your definition of FINE may be most of us would just lie and say “I am FINE”, because it’s an easy way out.

Then why do we say “I am fine” when clearly, we’re not:

  • Not sure of what you really feel
  • Pretending to be okay
  • To avoid conflicts
  • Scared to tell what you're really feeling

Only those who identify with these feelings can truly understand the agony behind the words “I am fine.”

The next time someone asks how you are, think about the response you’re already anticipating. What if we didn’t settle for “fine”? What if we stop, take a moment, and answer with true sincerity how I’m doing? Or better yet, tell them how you’re feeling. We could all benefit from slowing down and honestly evaluating how we are doing.

The Ultimate Transformation Challenge [5-Part Series] Part 3 - How to Step into “BE” Self

Ever wonder how your words can shape your reality? In Part 3 of our series, "The Ultimate Transformation Challenge," we dive deep into the power of self-talk and its profound impact on your journey to becoming your best self.

I've faced my own set of struggles, from tackling a challenging mindset to pushing my body through grueling runs. One thing I've learned is that our brains are wired to protect us, not necessarily to make our dreams easy to achieve. Whether it was running a marathon or breaking free from medications, the key was in how I spoke to myself.

I had to confront my issues with self-image and self-belief. I struggled to see myself medication-free and crossing that marathon finish line. I questioned my self-worth, feeling undeserving of these achievements. But by addressing these doubts and reshaping my self-talk, I began to unlock my potential.

Here are the highlights I will share:

  • The Power of Self-Talk: How changing your inner dialogue can transform your confidence and self-esteem.

  • Visualisation Techniques: The importance of seeing yourself achieving your goals and how it can drive you forward.

  • Overcoming Self-Doubt: Strategies to confront and reshape your beliefs about self-worth and potential.

Think about your own self-image and self-worth. Where do you see limitations in yourself? What beliefs are holding you back? Join us in this episode as we explore practical steps to transform your mindset and step into your true potential.

Tune in to discover how to change your story and embrace the power of your words to create the life you deserve.
