What Do You Really Mean When You Say, "I AM FINE"

Do you know that “I am fine” is the most told lie in the English language? It is usually used when someone is, in fact, not fine but they say “I am fine” because they don’t want to burden others and it’s easier to explain than what’s wrong, would you agree?

F.I.N.E is said to stand for “Feeling Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional”, and can also be “Feeling I’m Nothing to Everyone” or “Feeling Inadequate, Needing Encouragement”. Whatever your definition of FINE may be most of us would just lie and say “I am FINE”, because it’s an easy way out.

Then why do we say “I am fine” when clearly, we’re not:

  • Not sure of what you really feel
  • Pretending to be okay
  • To avoid conflicts
  • Scared to tell what you're really feeling

Only those who identify with these feelings can truly understand the agony behind the words “I am fine.”

The next time someone asks how you are, think about the response you’re already anticipating. What if we didn’t settle for “fine”? What if we stop, take a moment, and answer with true sincerity how I’m doing? Or better yet, tell them how you’re feeling. We could all benefit from slowing down and honestly evaluating how we are doing.

How to Overcome Procrastination

Have you ever found yourself putting off important tasks, only to feel stressed and overwhelmed later? I sure have. There’s something about procrastination that just sneaks up on us, doesn’t it? In this episode of "How to Overcome Procrastination," we’re diving deep into how to tackle procrastination head-on.

I remember a time when I had a big project due, and I kept telling myself, "I'll start tomorrow." Tomorrow came and went, and the cycle continued. What I didn't realise was that my own thoughts were sabotaging me. Thoughts like, "I don't have enough time," or "This isn't really important right now," kept me stuck. Becoming aware of these thoughts was a game-changer. I started questioning myself, "What am I really avoiding?" This simple question opened up a whole new perspective.

Then came the magic of consistency. I learned to keep pushing forward, taking small steps every day, no matter how tiny they seemed. And guess what? Each small success felt like a huge victory. Celebrating these little wins boosted my confidence and kept me moving.

In this episode, I will share:

  • Recognising and Challenging Your Limiting Beliefs: Learn how to identify the thoughts that hold you back and reframe them to propel you forward.

  • Asking Yourself the Tough Questions: Discover the power of self-reflection to uncover what you’re truly avoiding and how to confront it head-on.

  • Celebrating Every Achievement: Understand the importance of acknowledging even the smallest wins to build momentum and confidence.

By the end, you won’t just be running towards your goals—you’ll be flying.

Tune in now in this episode and start your journey to a more productive, stress-free life. Let’s overcome procrastination together!
